Creating purposeful imagery to reflect care, connection, and support.

Photography for the charity, 2wish

Client: 2wish Date: 17th December 2024

Overview

I worked with 2wish to create a suite of photography that reflects the care, compassion, and support at the heart of the charity.

The aim was to produce imagery that could be used across their brand, from social media and campaigns to wider communications, helping to visually represent the different ways 2wish supports individuals and families.

Rather than focusing on a single moment or event, the project was designed to capture a range of scenarios that reflect the breadth of their work, from informal meet-ups to more personal, one-to-one support.

Process

The day was structured around a series of set scenarios, each designed to represent a different aspect of the charity’s work.

This included get together’s, where people come together to share and support one another as well as quieter, more intimate environments that reflect the charity’s one-to-one support

While these moments were guided, the approach remained natural and observational. The aim was to avoid anything feeling staged or overly polished, allowing interactions to feel genuine while still ensuring each scene clearly communicated its purpose.

Given the sensitivity of the subject, tone was key throughout. The focus was on capturing warmth, connection, and reassurance, creating imagery that feels honest and considered, rather than overly directed.

At the same time, there was a clear understanding of how the content would be used. Each image was created with flexibility in mind, ensuring it could sit comfortably across different platforms and formats while maintaining a consistent visual language.

Outcome

The final set of images provides 2wish with a versatile bank of content that reflects both the breadth and the sensitivity of their work.

The imagery captures a range of scenarios, allowing the charity to communicate their support clearly and consistently across their brand. It gives them the tools to share their message in a way that feels authentic, approachable, and grounded in real human connection.

More than anything, the work acts as a visual extension of the charity’s mission — helping to communicate support and hope during difficult times through considered, purposeful imagery.

“Working with Alex was seamless and efficient. He really understood the brand and very quickly produced a fundraising pack that was engaging, clear and captured the identity of the charity.

In a small marketing department, it’s so important to work with externals you can trust, and we felt like we were in safe hands the whole way.“
