The Muppet Show is back and to mark the occasion I created a series of posters featuring some of the show’s most iconic characters.
Originally airing from 1974 to 1981, The Muppet Show was a landmark television series, pairing some of the era’s most iconic stars with a cast of colourful frogs, pigs, bears, and everything in between.
As a longtime Muppets fan, I wanted to share my excitement for the show’s Disney Plus return by creating a poster series that creatively featured the cast along with a nod to it’s 70’s roots.
The result is a five piece poster set featuring Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great, and Animal, each with a line from the show’s opening theme. I wanted to utilise a stylised take on the iconic Cooper Black while also giving the posters a throwback feel, and of course, I wanted to do the Muppets justice!
Here’s to the return of the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, muppetational show on television!
