Personal Poster Concepts for “The Muppet Show”
Date: 4th February 2026
This poster series was created as a personal project to celebrate the return of The Muppet Show, a show known for its energy, humour, and instantly recognisable characters.
The aim was to reinterpret that world through a contemporary lens, creating a set of posters that feel bold, playful, and rooted in character. Rather than replicating existing artwork, the focus was on capturing the personality of each character and translating it into a strong, graphic format.
Each poster was designed to stand alone while contributing to a wider set, building a collection that reflects the variety and individuality of the show itself.
The project began with the characters.
Each design was built around the personality, presence, and visual identity of a specific character, using composition, colour, and typography to reflect their traits. The intention was to create something instantly recognisable, without relying on overly detailed illustration.
A limited visual language helped tie the series together. Bold layouts, strong colour palettes, and consistent typographic treatment allowed each poster to feel part of the same world, while still giving space for variation.
There was also a clear influence from editorial and film poster design, drawing on composition and pacing to create something that feels more like a curated series than a set of individual pieces. This helped elevate the work beyond simple fan art into something more considered and intentional.
The final series brings together a set of posters that feel cohesive, character-driven, and visually confident.
Each piece captures a different line of the show, while the collection as a whole reflects its energy, humour, and variety. The work demonstrates how a strong concept, when applied consistently, can create something that feels complete and recognisable as a set.
As a personal project, it also offers space to explore style, tone, and influence, showing how cultural references can be reinterpreted through design to create something fresh and engaging.
